Description

Petersham is the name of a thick fabric made of carded yarn. The name comes directly from the German language - from the words flaus or flaush, which in free translation simply mean a strand. Petersham fabric, despite its thickness, has a fairly good air circulation, which has an extremely good effect on the thermal insulation properties of the material. Hence the very common use of Petersham in the case of autumn and winter outerwear.

The material is very resistant to creases as well as deformations and distortions caused by intensive use. At the same time, it is characterized by high durability and resistance to abrasion. It is an excellent material for the production of outerwear - irreplaceable in the case of coats and overcoats, capes and thicker jackets. A very tight and fleshy weave is characterized by considerable stiffness, which, however, does not take away its pleasant to the touch texture and softness. An additional advantage of Petersham is that it is lint-free and easy to cut and sew.
