Muslin is characterized by extraordinary subtlety. Originally, it was made of natural resources: silk, cotton, linen or wool. Currently, you can meet with a different composition, but the most desirable one is 100% cotton. We can distinguish 3 types of Muslin: Single, Double and Triple Gauze, where the names indicate the number of layers present in the material. Single layers are woven with a loose linen weave, and the way they are joined creates a characteristic wrinkling of the fabric. Double Gauze cotton muslin is thin, light and very airy. Thanks to two layers of material, it is non-translucent. This fabric is safe for the skin: its natural composition does not cause allergies, while the soft fibers do not cause irritation. The material provides very good air circulation and allows the skin to breathe on hot days. It is hygroscopic, which means that it can absorb a large amount of water, while thanks to its loose weave - it dries quite quickly. The above features allow the wide use of Muslin.
